Salt Security named one of Forbes' Best Startup Employers

We are so proud to be one of the Forbes America’s Best Startup Employers for this year! Forbes and its research partner Statista apply millions of data points to pick the winners, focusing on three key areas – employee satisfaction, employer reputation, and company growth.

Since Michael and I founded Salt Security in 2016, our API security platform has won multiple technology awards. We were named a Gartner Cool Vendor in 2020, earned the CISO Choice Award last year, and won Gold just last week in the Globee® Cyber Security Global Excellence Awards to name just three. These awards acknowledge the unique value of our API Context Engine (ACE) architecture in delivering continuous, context-based API security insights to combat increasing API security threats worldwide.

While we’re proud of all of the awards we’ve won over the past few years, today’s inclusion as a best startup employer is especially meaningful. Companies cannot succeed with industry-best technology alone. The caliber of the team is the ultimate ingredient to success. At Salt Security, we have understood and acted on that truth from the start, steadfastly holding a high bar for quality even as we’ve tripled in size in a year.  Being named as a best startup employer reflects an outside measure of our success in building an incredible team, and it’s also a testament to our ongoing dedication to employee well-being.

In a fast-growth startup like ours, work can be both exhilarating and intense. Salt Security has always prioritized a company culture built on mutual trust and respect. We are a workplace founded on equity, inclusion, and diversity and providing work-life balance for our employees.

We demonstrate this commitment in a variety of ways. On National Working Parents Day, we give the entire team a half day off to spend with their families or significant others. We provide support to organizations, such as Girls Who Code, that help bridge the technology gender gap. We raise awareness and affirm our backing of LGBTQ rights during Pride Month, and we advocate for gender equality by promoting special campaigns, such as this week’s International Women’s Day!

We are extremely proud to be named to this exclusive Forbes list. This particular honor validates our efforts to build an inclusive and supportive company culture. Success is measured in many ways, but employee satisfaction is at the top.
